Birthday Card using Better Together and Grand Calibur

As 99% of my die cuts are Spellbinders if not all,  the new ones were on my shopping list and so I had to have the Grand Calibur.  Its great being able to cut and emboss a full A4 or lots of smaller die cuts.  On the edge of this card I used the Classic scallop Edgabilites and I cut the mat out with the Classic triple scallop and the Classic scallop rectangles to make a frame.  Then I used one of the Edgabilities down the side of the frame to cover up the fact I hadnt got the rectangle in the middle of
the frame!!  I placed a bit of paper at the back and the girl and dog from Better together page 20 cut at 3 inches and the sentiment too.  I used some glossy embossing powder to put on the dog, girls hair and dress and also the sentiment.

This is another card I made, as I couldnt stop using the Grand Calibur, its so easy to use and  great for back grounds and edging.

Thanks for looking.  Hope you all had a great summer break.

Another Buccaneer card this is entered into my first Challenges!

The challenge was just to use something found in the sky like clouds, birds etc
Details on the blog site here: http://papercutzchallenge.blogspot.com/ and also

So I already had this card made which was ideal.  The seagul has been cut out at 10 cms (4 inches) and the words were done about 3 cms (1inch), I think.
The word book is a bought one and covered in paper from a Walmart pad.
Seagull cut at 2inches I think, I did some extra layers to add more dimension.
Ribbon from my stash and have decorated with crab and pirate and other images.

The Album I have made for my Sister In Law when I visit next month.  I do love all the images so far on the Buccaneer cartridge and think its the best one out there.

Thanks for looking.  xx

Buccaneer Birthday Card

I just received the Buccaneer Cartridge this week and cant stop making cards from it.  So far I have made 5 cards and I think most, if not all of my family will get a card made from this, so it is proving to be a good choice.  Which I knew it would, I just had to wait for the price to come down a bit.  It was probably more than I usually pay even now but I couldn't wait any longer. :)  I have cut some of the layers differently by hand as I dont think Cricut have quite got the concept of decoupage.  Hope you like it.  I have got more cards showing in the Cricut MB  UK Imagine Projects thread if  you are interested.

I am not sure who I have made this card for but I loved the look of this Pirate and I am sure I will find someone to send it too!!

Base card is from The Paper Mill Shop
Patterned paper from a friends stash
Mat layers cut from Elegant edges at 10cm & 9cm.
Pirate cut out at 9cm

Thanks for looking.

Birthday Card using Nursery Tails

When I first saw this cartridge I thought I would never use it as my boys are way beyond the age for these cutesy images but I think it is proving to be a very adaptable one.  This card is for my friend who has got a significant birthday and catching up with me!!

The base card is from WHSmith A4 size, 21cm x 29.5cm.
The step card instructions are as follows:-
Place your card on your work surface with the short sides at the top and bottom.
Measure and mark 5cm, 8.5cm, 14.5cm, 20.5cm and 24cm down the right edge.  Score 11.5cm horizontal lines from each mark.  Score alll the way across at the 14.5cm mark.

Draw a pencil line from the left edge of the top score line down to the left edge of the bottom score line.  Use a craft knife or similar and cut along the pencil line.

Mountain fold the 5cm, 14.5cm (all the way across), and the 24cm score line.  Valley fold the 8.5cm and 20.5cm score lines to complete the step design.

I also made a template using an A4 size bit of plastic so that I dont have to measure to make this sort of card again.  I am not good at measurements, so the less I have to do the better.

The main image is cut at 5inches (13cm approx) all placed on
using pop dots from Lidls to give dimension.
The first mats are from my stash.  Cant remember where I got them from.  Think my friend gave me the one with Friends on.  Then the Party on label is from JT Cart and is on a Tim Holtz die cut.
Hope you like it.  Thanks for looking.
